Two commercial sex workers have been accused of beating up a
policeman simply identified as Sergeant Usang in the Apapa area of
Lagos.
Daily Post reports that the two ladies, 22-year-old Dominica Paul and
Chioma Aneka committed the offences on January 20 at New Road,
Olodi-Apapa.
Usang was said to have seen the ladies who resides at the Ajegunle
area of Apapa, roaming the street at about midnight and confronted them.
They couldn’t give a satisfactory answer when he asked them where they were they going.
The police officer decided to take them to the station and that was
when they pounced on him. They beat him up and tore his uniform.
The prosecutor, Inspector Tony Elibeh said they assaulted Sergeant Usang while he performing his duty.
Dominica and Chioma were arraigned before an Apapa Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos yesterday, January 26.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
They were granted bail in the sum of N50, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum by Titus Abolarinwa, the Chief Magistrate.
He adjourned the case till February 24 for mention.
Some weeks back, an Abuja-based lawyer got into in a fight with a commercial sex worker over N2000 in a hotel at old Maitama area of Kubwa.
